Hi, I'm Helen. I'm a designer maker and stylist obsessed with textiles and treasures found at car boots and flea markets. Our home is a mish mash of our finds which we've lovingly put together to make a unique style. You'll experience this by staying in Paramount apartments.

The love of Ilfracombe was instant. From the moment we drove down the hill at dusk with lights twinkling all the way down to the sea. Friends we made on that trip are still firmly on our list of friends 8 years on.

Brighton to Ilfracombe was a huge move from one seaside town to another, one side of the country to the other. A new life, lifestyle and eventually a new business with two kids in tow.

My obsession with Georgian properties started in childhood with a family friend’s home in Liverpool overlooking the Anglican cathedral. The move to this beautiful wild west town gave us the opportunity to buy Paramount, a five storey town house split into three dwellings. Our home situated on the top three stories and the two lower floors becoming Paramount Hideout and Paramount Bolt Hole. Both spacious arty one bed holiday apartments offering a home from home with a creative twist.

So far it’s taken 5 years of slowly chipping away and restoring Paramount to its former glory, and we are still going. Paramount Bolt Hole has been welcoming guests since 2019 and of summer 2022 saw the opening of Paramount Hideout. Both holiday apartments are now available to rent showcasing our own unique style of vintage, art, textiles and colour.

​I can be as hands on or off as you like during your stay. Your call. Happy for you to pick my brains and share my local knowledge wherever I can. As a family we are especially keen on surfing and walks so can share our passion for the area.
